As a small day school and nursery, we nurture children aged 1 to 11, helping them reach their full potential. A strong family atmosphere is central to our school. Our teachers have excellent relationships with the pupils, understanding and valuing each one as an individual with unique strengths, weaknesses, interests, and personalities.
We place great emphasis on building self-confidence and a love of learning. Throughout their time at Tamaris, we encourage our children to become increasingly independent and responsible, preparing them for the challenges of senior school and beyond.

Tamaris Approach
COMMUNITY
Tamaris is situated in the suberbs of Kampala on a beautiful area of land in Uppper Buziga, overlooking the Lake Victoria. With its beautiful location we nurture a vibrant community where every child may feel secure to learn. We know the importance of creating an environment where every child is given the opportuinty to explore and create in commnuity that fosters mutual respect. Its important to us that we have fun in our school environment to ensure everyone adopts that life-long love of learning.

STRONG CHARACTER
Tamaris holds a strong Chrisitian faith. Its through this faith we know the importance of creating a school where children know the strength of developing strong characters. We encoruage everyone to treat eachother with respect, valuing everyones uniquenss. Its important to us that each child values themseves first, to know they are important and then to value others.
We ensure that every class has a good classroom culture with positive rules and behavioural structures.
EFFECTIVE PLANNING AND TEACHING
We are passionate about providing a strong curriculum to all our students. We value quality in our education, therefore, we ensure that all teachers are trained and equipped to teach effectively to all types of learners. Our staffing team are required to to plan in depth, knowing their subject knowledge and understanding the key concepts.
ENSURING GROWTH
Assessment is key to each child’s progression - assessing through verbal communication, activities and written application throughout each lesson is used to track a child’s progress. At the end of each topic and term, set assessments are carried out to contribute to a child’s assessment. Teachers will use the data to create individual learning maps and to incorporate into their planning and teaching.
We value the importance of continually analysing assessments and progression in all areas of the school to ensure realistic growth is happening.
